BRIEF CV

Tzu-Chun was born in 1998 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Soochow University in 2020. During her MSc studies, she worked at the Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, as a master’s student and received her MSc degree in Chemistry from National Taiwan Normal University in 2022. She continued as a Research Assistant in Prof. Cheng-Chung Wang’s group in 2023. Subsequently, she joined the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) as an Associate Researcher with Dr. Chiu-Lein Hung’s group and synthesized PROTAC inhibitor from 2023 to 2024. Currently, Tzu-Chun is a PhD fellow at the University of Copenhagen, working with Prof. Christian Marcus Pedersen, focusing primarily on the field of carbohydrate chemistry and organic synthesis.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The glycosylation reaction is one of the most significant processes in carbohydrate chemistry, as changes in stereoselectivity during glycosylation can profoundly influence the physical and chemical properties of the resulting compounds. This critical aspect has attracted considerable attention from scientists. In our project, we aim to effectively utilize the “glycosyl formate,” previously reported by our group, to investigate the interactions between supramolecular structures and glycosylation reactions, alongside analyzing their non-covalent interactions. Furthermore, we aspire to unravel the trends in stereoselectivity as part of our future efforts.

MAIN RESEARCH FIELD

Carbohydrate chemistry, Organic chemistry, Glycosylation reaction, Mechanism studies
