Biographical sketch
Christian Marcus Pedersen studied chemistry at Aarhus University, Denmark. His PhD studies were conducted under the supervision of Prof. Mikael Bols, and during that time, he spent a period at UIC with Prof. David Crich, who introduced him to mechanistic studies and VT-NMR studies of glycosylations. For his postdoctoral studies, Pedersen worked with Prof. Richard R. Schmidt in Konstanz, where he achieved the first total synthesis of lipoteichoic acid from S. pneumonia.
Since 2013, Christian Marcus Pedersen has held the position of associate professor at UCPH, focusing on carbohydrate chemistry and organic synthesis in general.
